How we make money

We earn nothing from any platform at the moment. When that changes, it will be through affiliate commissions, and they will never decide which platform you see first. This page explains how that works and how you can tell.

What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link is a link to a platform that lets the platform see you came from us. If you then open an account or trade, the platform may pay us a commission, for example a share of the trading fees it earns. The platform pays that commission, and the way you sign up and buy stays the same.

Affiliate programmes often have different terms for different countries. That is why, on PlatformCrypto.eu, we only add a link after we have checked that the programme covers users across the EU.

Where we stand today

There are no affiliate links on PlatformCrypto.eu yet. Every “Go to” button sends you to the platform's normal website, and we are not paid for it. The table below comes straight from our settings, so it changes as soon as a platform gets an affiliate link.

How affiliate links will be labelled

• One route for every platform link. All “Go to” buttons use an address that starts with /go/ followed by the platform's name. It forwards you to the platform. It does not pass on which coin or amount you compared.
• A label at the button. If a button is an affiliate link, it says so: the words “Affiliate link” appear right next to or below it.
• This page. The table above shows, per platform, whether we earn anything from a referral.
• For search engines. The “Go to” buttons in the comparison are marked as sponsored links, so search engines do not treat them as editorial recommendations.

Why commissions never change the order

The comparison ranks platforms by one number: how much crypto you receive after all fees. The code that sorts the platforms is not given any information about commissions, so a commission cannot move a platform up or down. A platform without an affiliate programme is compared in exactly the same way and still comes first when it is cheapest.

How we calculate that number is explained in full on how we compare.

What we do not do

• No paid positions. Platforms cannot pay for a higher place, a mention or a review.
• No unlicensed platforms. We only compare platforms whose MiCA licence we have checked in ESMA's register, even if another company would pay more.
• No buying advice. We show what a purchase costs. Which crypto you buy, if any, is your decision.
• No account needed. You can use the comparison without signing up for anything.
