Disclaimer

By PlatformCrypto.eu editorial team · Last checked on

Everything on PlatformCrypto.eu is general information. Our comparisons are estimates, not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and not a recommendation to buy or sell any crypto-asset.

PlatformCrypto.eu compares what it costs to buy crypto on licensed platforms. The results are estimates, calculated from public data at a given moment. They are not advice of any kind. Any decision to buy, sell or hold crypto is yours, based on your own situation; if you are unsure, ask an independent, qualified adviser.

What we are, and what we are not

We are a comparison website. We do not buy, sell or hold crypto for you, we do not handle your money and we do not open accounts on your behalf. If you sign up with a platform, your agreement is with that platform, under its terms.

Crypto-assets are high-risk

The price of a crypto-asset can fall sharply in a short time, and you could lose some or all of the money you put in. Only use money you can afford to lose.

Crypto-assets are not covered by the deposit guarantee schemes that protect bank savings, or by investor compensation schemes. A MiCA licence means a platform is supervised by a regulator. It does not protect you against falling prices.

Where our figures come from

  • Prices come from each platform's public API. When we calculate, we only use market data that is less than three minutes old, and every result shows the time of its data. If a platform's data is older or unavailable, we show no figures for it.
  • Fees come from each platform's own fee pages, help centre or terms. We check them by hand and show the date of the last check. If a platform does not publish a cost we need, such as the markup in its app, we say so instead of guessing.
  • Costs in euros are measured against a reference price: the median mid price across the order books we have at that moment. The actual price on a platform can be higher or lower.
  • Licences are checked in the interim MiCA register published by ESMA, the EU's securities markets authority. We show the date of our last check.
  • The price chart shows the average price across exchanges as calculated by CoinGecko, in US dollars, euros or pounds. It is not the price you pay on any particular platform. Past prices say nothing about future prices.

How we calculate everything is set out on how we compare.

Check before you confirm

Prices change constantly. Platforms can also change their fees, markups, coins, payment methods or the countries they serve, sometimes without notice. We update our information as soon as we can, but there will always be moments when it is behind.

Before you confirm a purchase, check the price, the fees and the amount of crypto the platform shows you. Those figures, not ours, are what you will pay and receive.

Accuracy and liability

We work carefully to keep our information correct, complete and up to date, but we cannot guarantee it. Data can be delayed or incomplete, a calculation can contain an error, and a platform can change its terms after our last check.

To the extent permitted by law, PlatformCrypto.eu is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of this website, its comparisons or tools, or from decisions based on them. If you spot a mistake, please tell us and we will correct it.

Tax

We do not give tax advice. How crypto is taxed depends on the rules of the country where you are resident for tax purposes. For the EU rules on what platforms report to tax authorities, see our page on DAC8.

Links to other websites

We link to crypto platforms, regulators and other websites. We are not responsible for their content, their services or their privacy practices. There are currently no affiliate links on PlatformCrypto.eu; how that would work, and how such links would be labelled, is explained in our affiliate disclosure.
